Italy-Mozambique: signed technical agreement of Naval Cooperation

In the afternoon of 30 January 2014, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in Maputo, the Chief of Staff of the Navy, team admiral Giuseppe De Giorgi and the Chief of Staff of the Mozambican Navy, rear admiral Lazaro Menete, signed the technical Naval Cooperation agreement between Italy and Mozambique.

The event took place on the occasion of the twelfth stop of the 30 ° Naval Group engaged in the campaign The country system in motion, sanctioned the start of a cooperation activity between the Italian Navy and that of Mozambique, which sees the displacement of the offshore patrol vessel in the country Commander Borsini, for a period of about 2 months.

A presence aimed at training to combat maritime piracy, illicit trafficking, the control of territorial waters and the safety of navigation. Also present was the Ambassador of Italy to Mozambique, Roberto Vellano, who expressed his heartfelt thanks, hoping for "the beginning of a lasting and solid agreement".
