"With the heart beyond the virus" is the title of the new volume published by the Italian Navy. The book, the work of journalist and reservist officer Anita Fiaschetti, tells the commitment of the Armed Force during the pandemic and will be launched, as a commemorative contribution, on the National Day in memory of the victims of COVID-19.

In the 168 pages of the book it emerges how, despite the health emergency, the Navy has kept all the national and international commitments undertaken, rapidly changing its approach and response capacity and finding new solutions to the necessary changes that the epidemic had imposed. The Armed Force took care of its men, crews at sea and their families, sending its own personnel at the same time to support the national health service.

Doctors, nurses and technicians - the protagonists of a large part of the volume - tell of their commitment at the forefront of hospitals, retirement homes, camp tents and drive-throughs.

To give value to what every sailor has done, the testimonies collected in the civil world: people who by role or by necessity have received the support of the Navy in one of the darkest pages in history.

The book is available in the Marina Militare publishing store: www.amazon.it/marinamilitare
