The 30 ° Naval Group concludes the circumnavigation of Africa in Algiers

The image of bringing Cavour, the supplier of the Etna team and the Bergamini frigate "will remain in the hearts of the Algerians and all the Italians who operate in this land and who are proud to see the Italian flag waving in the Bay of Algiers", these are the words that the Italian ambassador to Algeria, Michele Giacomelli, wanted to address to the crews of the 30 Naval Group shortly before they left the port of Algiers at the end of the four-day break that began last March 31.

Among the main activities carried out in the context of the busy schedule of humanitarian assistance, thanks to the collaboration with the Operation Smile Italia Onlus foundation and the contribution of the Italian Red Cross staff and the Cavour ship health team, and the Capacity activities Building through conferences, briefings and seminars in favor of the Algerian Navy, in the wake of a constantly growing cooperation.

At the bottom of the excellent relations between Italy and Algeria, the presence of the Navy Chief of Staff, team admiral Giuseppe De Giorgi, who welcomed on board the Cavour aircraft carrier the Algerian counterpart, gen. maj. Malek Necib, classmate at the Naval Academy of Livorno.

After having touched 21 ports in 20 different countries, the naval campaign "The Country System in Motion" is coming to an end, with the activity of the Naval Group focused on air operations until the arrival in Civitavecchia.
