In memory of Enzo Maiorca and his daughter Rossana, protagonists and holders of countless records in the world of competitive freediving and deeply linked to the Navy through sharing the same ideals and respect for the sea, the award dedicated to them "Enzo and Rossana Maiorca" was established over ten years ago, at the behest of the family and some collaborators and friends, and aimed at young graduates in marine biology who have particularly distinguished themselves in studies on the protection of underwater habitats.
This year, the XIV edition, held in Bologna on 15 October 2023 on the occasion of theEuropean Dive Show (EUDI Show), saw for two of the winners of the aforementioned award the opportunity to live a unique and exciting experience: spending a few days at the Teseo Tesei diving and raider group in close contact with military diving professionals.
Jacopo and Verdiana, marine biologists and recreational divers, from 10 to 13 September, were able to experience first-hand the operational reality of the Comsubin divers, through activities that ranged from diving to the study of the modern equipment supplied to the operating group divers and scientific activities in collaboration with ENEA.
An exciting experience that greatly involved the young scholars and enriched their already important professional background and knowledge of the underwater world.
