NBNE South Evoikos Gulf Naval Base (GREECE): the exercise took place from 13th to 24th October Aegean Seal 24-I, an important multinational training activity which saw the participation of diving teams from numerous allied navies, including the Navy divers serving with MARICODRAG.

The exercise, conducted by theUNDERSEA Disaster Management (SDM) of the Hellenic Fleet Headquarters, engaged the Italian diving team, together with seven other elite teams, in intense operations aimed at fighting the threat posed by naval mines, counting a total of 133 military personnel including MCM EOD divers and autonomous vehicle (AUV) technicians, constituting a very important training opportunity.

In particular, multiple integrated training activities (FIT) were carried out, followed by a complex tactical activity (TACEX), with an average of 27 dives per day and 10 at night, with over 10 square kilometres of seabed inspected by underwater operators and 8 autonomous vehicles AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle).

The final balance was undoubtedly positive for the team of divers serving in MARICODRAG who operated in all training scenarios, achieving all the objectives set by the exercise.

L'Aegean Seal of 2024 had, in fact, as its objective the strengthening of multinational cooperation between units in the field of "mine warfighting" and underwater operations for the search, identification and destruction of naval mines and underwater devices, primary objectives of the command of the Mine Countermeasure Forces (MARICODRAG) and the Navy.
