Homage to the training ship Amerigo Vespucci, Saturday 2 May 2025, in the waters off Augusta: the coastal tankers Linosa e Salina of the Fourth Naval Division, and sailing vessels, Andromeda e Blue Marlin of the sailing section of Augusta, with on board the lieutenants of the vessel frequenting the 306th Naval Command School Session (SSCN), salute the "Lady of the Seas" as she continues on her direct route towards Reggio Calabria.

The sailing ship, known throughout the world for its elegance and its history in the service of naval training, responded to the greeting by offering a breathtaking spectacle to those lucky enough to witness it.

The training ship's voyage around the world, not only geographically but also culturally and emotionally, has created connections and strengthened the bond between Italy and the international communities, allowing the vessel lieutenants, frequenters, to capitalize on their sailing experience and to honor not only the oldest and most admired ship of the Italian Navy still in service, but one of the most beautiful sailing ships in the world.

So under the aegis of Nave Vespucci the start was given to the educational activity that saw the two sailing boats as protagonists: a high-performance experience for the future commanders of the Navy capable of refining their character and consolidating the fundamental seafaring skills to orient the sails successfully in every situation. The training, in fact, never stops and is conducted in the round, fully reconciling tradition and innovation.

Ship Vespucci is an example of this, and the sailing experience of the 306th SSCN takes this example by underlining the essential link between past and present.
