The commanders of NATO's Maritime and Amphibious Forces met in Northwood (UK) at the NATO Maritime Command (MARCOM), to address the current challenges to security, stability and defence in the Euro-Atlantic region. During the meeting, the main strategic issues related to the evolution of the international scenario were explored in depth, with particular attention to the crucial importance of cooperation, coordination, integration and interoperability between the various Allied components.
Among the participants, the Commander in Chief of the Naval Fleet (CINC), Admiral Aurelio de Carolis, represented the Navy, testifying to Italy's continuous commitment to actively contribute to NATO's strategic operations and activities and to maritime security in general. During the meeting, the Admiral had the opportunity to exchange views with his Allied counterparts, underlining the importance of a common vision to face future challenges. The meetings were also attended by the Commander of the Second Naval Division and Commander Italian Maritime Forces, the Commander of the Third Naval Division and the Marine Brigade Saint Mark, as commanders of the amphibious component and the landing force of the Navy.
At the same time, the CINC met with the Italian personnel serving at MARCOM. The Admiral expressed his sincere appreciation for the work carried out by our military personnel, also highlighted on several occasions by the NATO command, underlining their professionalism and constant commitment in a moment of particular operational intensity for the Atlantic Alliance.
This important meeting represents a further step in the collaboration between the Navy and NATO allies, highlighting how joint work and continuous dialogue are essential to address future challenges and ensure stability in the Euro-Atlantic region.
