Navy experts explain hydrography to children

What is hydrography? What is it for? Who cares? These and other questions are answered, with the help of a video, by the experts of the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy, one of the cartographic organs of the State, based in the nineteenth-century Forte San Giorgio of Genoa, where more than 300 traditional cards are kept , 200 Electronic Nautical Chart and over 250 nautical charts for pleasure boats.

The continuous work of the Institute, of surveys of the 556.218 square kilometers of Italian territorial waters and of the 7.550 kilometers of coastline, allows an improvement in the safety of shipping, the development of knowledge of the seas, the facilitation of the conduct of the units of the same Marina Military.
