The humanitarian activity of the 30 ° Naval Group continues in Madagascar in collaboration with Operation Smile

In the Bay of Diego Suarez, to the north of the island of Madagascar, the stop of the Portair Cavour, flag ship of the 30 Naval Group, which between the 17 and the January 23 continued to carry out humanitarian activity in the ambit of the Campaign "The Country System in Motion" of the Navy in collaboration with the Onlus Operation Smile Italy.

The activities of the non-profit organization Operation Smile were a success which saw Professor Scopelliti, soul and heart of the non-profit Operation Smile, Admiral Paolo Treu, Commander of the 30th Naval Group, and the Ambassador to South Africa Vincenzo Schioppa at the forefront. .

During the stop, 21 screening and 17 operations were completed, which are added to those completed during the recent stage in Mombasa (Kenya), for a total of 42 screening and 35 completed interventions.

Humanitarian activities will continue on board the Cavour aircraft carrier and the Etna Squad Rider in Maputo, Mozambique, from the 27 to the 01 February 2014.
