Comsubin, international cooperation in the training of divers

On 11 September, at the Command Grouping Divers and Raiders "Teseo Tesei", the commander Admiral Massimiliano Rossi delivered the first patent from Underwater Operator to a frequenter of the Tunisian Navy. Due to the anti-contagion rules, the ceremony took place in a restricted manner but without diminishing the solemnity and importance of the event.

An event that marks a moment of enormous evolution in the panorama of the development of the Zarzis Underwater Professional Training Center, a project that derives from the collaboration of the governments of the Italian and Tunisian Republics, since 1991.

This project is part of the ontogenesis of a regional development policy aimed at enhancing the south-east region of Tunisia, with the aim of increasing the employment front of young people in the region and responding to the need for skilled labor in the professions relating to diving. diving and the fight against accidents.

The permanent framework of diving specialists and instructors of the future center will be entirely created and trained by the divers of the Italian Navy of the Diving School of COMSUBIN, through ad hoc courses aimed at issuing the following patents / qualifications:

- Self-contained air breathing apparatus up to a depth of 50 meters;

- Air operated equipment from the surface up to 50 meters;

- Maneuvering of Hyperbaric Implants

Finally, after an appropriate phase of experience, the students will return to Comsubin for a further final course at the end of which they will obtain the qualification of Underwater Instructor. 

There are several dozen diving courses that, every year, Comsubin offers to the audience of sea professionals. In the last decade, the interest and desire to enter the prestigious and glorious School of Varignano has grown considerably by more and more foreign Marines, accompanying the diving training of its soldiers according to the standards of a Diving School that aligns itself with very strict selection and training criteria.

The commanding admiral underlined, during the delivery of the patent, the noble and disinterested connotation of such a bilateral cooperation, highlighting the very high sense of admiration towards a prospect of national growth aimed at such a high level of professionalism and specialization in the field underwater and hyperbaric. He also appreciated the commitment of the instructors School Group of Comsubin who in a particularly delicate moment, resulting from the pandemic due to Covid, have as always transmitted the passion and skills that are the basis of the life of a diver.
