Brindisi - Friday, March 17, from 16.30 pm, the Navy and the marine brigade Saint Mark celebrated, with a public ceremony on the Regina Margherita seafront, the 104th anniversary of the conferment of the name "San Marco" to the Marine Infantry.

During the ceremony, attended by the commander in chief of the naval team, team admiral Aurelio De Carolis, the "lions" of the brigade tried their hand at demonstrating the operational capabilities of the amphibious force of the Navy.

After over one hundred years of history, intense and imbued with memorable events, the Marine Infantry has achieved the excellence represented by the marine brigade Saint Mark, constituting a single multidisciplinary and multidimensional capacitive complex that today fits into the broader organizational and operational context of the naval team.

The brigade, divided into three regiments, a landing craft group, a headquarters and a school battalion, guarantees the performance of numerous tasks ranging from the projection of capabilities, on and from the sea, to the defense of sensitive installations and the promotion image of the Navy.
