Official students of the Academy at the Submarine Flotilla Command

50 official students of the Corps of Staff of the Naval Academy of Livorno (Corso Titani) carried out an orientation internship at the Submarine Flotilla Command (COMFLOTSOM), as part of the 2014 Summer Campaign.

Divided into a dense program, consisting of lessons at the Submarine Training Center, an outing on the Pelosi submarine and a visit on board the Scirè submarine, the purpose of this internship is to provide future officers with an overview on employment opportunities in the specialized underwater component.

At a descriptive theoretical phase during which the underwater component was presented, the means and the training process of the submarine officers, a practical phase followed which saw the young students engage with the simulators of the submarine class Sauro and Todaro, and of the related combat system.

The internship ended in the historic hall of the Submarine Training Center, where the memory of the component is kept. A unique career, that of the submariner, able to fully repay the commitment with great professional and human satisfactions.
