11 new Navy commanders enabled in Augusta

On 21 February they were delivered aboard Nave Cigala Fulgosi, at the naval base of Augusta, the diplomas of suitability for naval command in favor of eleven naval officers of the Navy, thus closing the 287th session of Naval Command School.

This is a five-week training process which aims to prepare the attendants for the function naval unit commander, examining their attitude, as regards mainly the aspects connected with the maneuver and safe conduct of the units.

The route, structured in two phases, saw at first the officers try their hand at mooring and unmooring maneuvers inside the Augusta harbor, aboard Nave Tirso, Ship Linosa of the Ship Salina. In the second phase, on board the patrol boats Cigala Fulgosi, Vega e Cassiopeia, the patrons also trained in the execution of offshore maneuvers such as towing, lateral refueling, the passage of personnel, materials and mail, as well as mooring maneuvers at anchor and kinematic maneuvers.

To complete the training, a series of lectures and conferences were held on the legal, regulatory and professional aspects relating to the role of commander.
In the coming months, the young lieutenants will be designated to assume command of a naval unit of the Navy and therefore to carry out a prestigious institutional task, especially in consideration of the geopolitical context in which Italy and consequently the armed force are called. nowadays to operate.
