On October 31, 2000 in the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the Security Council unanimously approved Resolution 1325 on 'Women, Peace and Security'. For the first time in history, the specificity of the role and experience of women in conflict prevention and resolution is recognized and in that same year, the Italian Armed Forces recruited the first women with stars.

In fact, with the law 380/99, our country with a historic turning point for Defense, aligned itself with other NATO countries by opening the doors of the Armed Forces and the Guardia di Finanza to the recruitment of women with the first military women recruited, of done, the following year.
