Wednesday 19th March, in the historic Piazza d'Armi of the Officers' School of the Navy, Rear Admiral Francesco Milazzo, commander of the Institute, officially conferred the rank of third class chief to the 124 students of the 25th normal course of marshals – "Horus".
A significant milestone, the result of two years of intense commitment, which marks the entry into a new phase of their career. After the summer, the newly promoted will reach their first destinations, on board the naval fleet units and at the Port Authorities.
After the symbolic and evocative delivery of the ranks, in front of the students of the 1st and 2nd classes, visibly proud of the goal achieved by their colleagues, the commander of the Institute, in a passage of his speech, in underlining the great responsibility that accompanies the new status and with it the value of the example, wanted to encourage the new marshals: “be proud of the professional milestone you have achieved because today you will finally become a full member of the great family of non-commissioned officers of our Navy".
The newly promoted students will finish their training next October, completing their military training and obtaining a three-year degree in the respective study cycles, such as Maritime Science and Management, Computer Science and Digital Communication, and Nursing Science.
The “Horus” course has also set sail, ready to set sail shortly.
