A military delegation of the "306 Squadron" belonging to the Royal Netherlands Air Force, led by the military assistant of the Netherlands, Colonel Jan Blom, made a visit to the School of Aerocooperation in Guidonia (RM), where it was welcomed by the deputy commander and director of the courses, captain of vessel Massimo Pitarra, and his collaborators. The delegation illustrated the educational offer of the school in the two areas of competence, remote sensing and aerocooperation, highlighting the courses recently certified in NATO and delivered in English.

Visitors were shown the potential of the FAC (Forward Air Controllers) simulator.

The high level of realism achieved through the vanguard systems in the "virtual reality" allow to plan and conduct simulated Close Air Support missions with the total involvement of the operator in the scenario, thus minimizing the overall costs of training / training and maintenance of qualifications obtained.

The visit then continued in the remote sensing sector where, thanks to the use of the most advanced technologies in the field of image management and processing, also in 3D, the school's capabilities were illustrated for the purposes of specialist and technical-operational training of "analysts" of remote sensing images from aerial and satellite sensors (photolectic), electro-optical and radar, the study and analysis of the territory and the use of specific software applications for the management of digital mapping in use at the operational departments.

The School of Aerocooperation is the military interforces institute specialized training and technical-operational value in the field of interpretation of remote sensing images (aerial and satellite) and in that of aeroterrestrial and aeronaval cooperation. For the training and qualification of the Forward Air Controllers, the school commander is the "National Certification Authority".

The courses of the School of Aerocooperation are open, as well as to the military personnel of the Armed Forces, also to personnel outside the administration of the Defense and to the military personnel of NATO and of the countries participating in the international Partnership for Peace program (PfP - Partnership for Peace), subject to authorization by the General Staff Defense.

The training / training procedures for Synthetic Aperture Radar Imagery Interpretation (SAR-II), Initial / Advanced Remote Sensing (IRS / ARS) e Forward Air Controllers (FAC) have obtained the NATO certification and are published in the course catalog (ETOC) of theAllied Command for Transformation from Norfolk (USA).
