The general secretariat of defense and national armaments directorate is present at the XX edition of the "Festival of Science" in Genoa, which starts again today and will end on 1 November.
The secretariat stand is located in Piazza delle Feste and proposes three technological research projects that fall within the framework of the National Military Research Plan (PNRM) managed by the XNUMXth department Technological innovation by Segredifesa. The projects are part of the theme of the Festival which this year is dedicated to “Languages” and have the aim of promoting the excellence of the Defense industry sector.
In particular, the projects concern a device that allows underwater wireless communication between the members of a team and the naval support unit (in collaboration with the Angelo Podestà srl company); an exoskeletal system capable of facilitating the soldier to transport equipment and reduce the risk of trauma and injuries (in collaboration with the Company Mech Lab Srl); and a particular type of ski that allows anyone with a disability to practice sports safely (in collaboration with Petr Huta's Groove Company).
Each of the projects in question falls into the dual use category since they make utility services available to the community also in sectors other than collective security.
