A delegation of Segredifesa, chaired by the general of the army corps Luciano Portolano, general secretary of defense and national director of armaments, participated last August 30 in theF-35 Chief Executive Officer Roundtable in Crystal City, United States of America.
The forum, coordinated by the undersecretary of defense for acquisition & sustainment William A. LaPlante, del Department of Defense of the United States, is a strategic level forum for the F35 program and allows the eight partner nations (Australia, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Norway, Holland, United Kingdom and USA) a targeted dialogue and constructive confrontation with the five main industries of the program itself (Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney, Northrop Grumman, BAE Systems and Rolls Royce).
The meeting takes place annually and allows the participating nations to express a shared direction for the protection of the technological and operational advantage achieved and consequently allows to strengthen the bond between friendly and allied countries, already part of the program, in addition to those that , more and more, are asking to be part of it.
General Portolano was accompanied by Brigadier General Bruno Levati, Director of the Program Joint Strike Fighter of the IV department of the Secretariat.
