Joint Stars 2023: the exercise towards the conduct phase

The Final coordination conference (FCC) which sealed the planning process of the Joint Stars 2023, the major annual Defense training event scheduled in Sardinia from 8 to 26 May.

Objective of the Joint Stars 2023 it is to contribute to increasing the operational readiness of the participating structures of the Armed Forces and to strengthen interoperability with the structures of the inter-agency and multinational sector.

Representatives from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Coast Guard, Red Cross, Fire Brigade and Civil Protection took part in the conference.

The head of the planning and exercises department of the operational command of the joint forces (COVI) division admiral Fabio Agostini, intervened by emphasizing the importance of this last planning phase for the success of the exercise, the conduct of which will allow interventions more effective for the protection and defense of national and international security.

At the conclusion of the works, the chief of staff of the COVI division admiral Valter Zappellini highlighted that the exercise will refine the intervention capacity of the Armed Forces in an inter-agency and inter-agency framework also in multinational contexts.

The activity took place from at the "Oreste Salomone" barracks in Capua, headquarters of the "Acqui" division command of the Italian Army.
