Defense Secretary General meets with Director General of Israel's Defense Ministry

The Secretary General of Defense and National Director of Armaments, Army Corps General Luciano Portolano, met an Israeli delegation in Rome led by the Director General of the Defense Ministry, Major General Amir Eshel.

In addition to Maj. General Eshel, the Isrelian delegation consisted of the deputy director general and head of the directorate of procurement and production of the Israeli ministry of defense, col. Avi Dadon, from the Israeli defense attache, col. Dror Altman, and other officials.

The meetings took place in a climate of mutual esteem and collaboration and allowed to further consolidate the already excellent relations in place between Italy and Israel, with particular reference to the strengthening of industrial cooperation, through the sharing of new areas of collaboration to be developed with the full involvement of the respective Armed Forces.

The constant strategic dialogue between the parties has also allowed the two authorities to confront each other in a frank, sincere and fruitful way on the issue of the challenges imposed by the current international crisis scenarios and on the context in which the parties intend to cooperate.

General Eshel then expressed to General Portolano his great appreciation, on behalf of the entire Israeli defense establishment, for the strategic alliance between the two countries and the firm position of Italy alongside the State of Israel in international contexts. .

For his part, General Portolano reiterated his full willingness to continue a dialogue of institutional support between governments characterized by a common strategic vision and sharing of intentions, as well as animated by mutual trust, with a view to identifying the best solutions that satisfy their respective operational needs.
