A delegation from the General Secretariat of Defense, led by Major General Rodolfo Sganga, Head of the III Department - Industrial Policy and International Relations, accompanied by col. Pier Luigi Verdecchia, head of office International Relations and Industrial Cooperation, participated in a mission to Ottawa on the occasion of the trade fair in the defense sector `` Canadian Security Exhibition '' (CANSEC) which took place on 1-2 June in the presence of the Minister of Defense, Anita Anand and the Minister of Defense British for procurement, Jeremy Quinn.
The delegation, which was welcomed by the Ferrari ambassador at the offices of the embassy in Ottawa, had meetings with the representatives of the Canadian Ministry of Defense and with high institutional officials of the Italian-Canadian community in cohesion of the celebrations in Ottawa of the Italian Republic Holiday.
During the visit to CANSEC, the Italian delegation also met with the representatives of the Canadian Commercial Cooperation with the aim of deepening cooperation in the defense industry sector, and the Italian industries that attended the show including in particular Leonardo, Fincantieri and Elettronica.
The visit to the fair made it possible to initiate an important dialogue with the Canadian counterpart with which areas of common interest were identified for the launch of future programs in a climate of great openness and enthusiasm. In this context, the next meetings have already been defined, the first of which is scheduled for next week, on the occasion of the next Paris show, Eurosatory 22.
