(To Greater Defense)
14/02/22

In recent days, Brigadier General Maurizio Fronda paid a visit for the first time to the Mario Fiore barracks in Motta di Livenza, headquarters of the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG), which passed under the tactical information brigade from 1 January 2022, in execution of the ordering measures ordered by the top of the Armed Force.

The meeting was aimed at introducing the capabilities and potential of the MNCG to the brigade commander twenty years after its constitution, which took place on January 1, 2002, following the indications established by Force Goals of NATO contained in the Strategic concept of 1999.

After the welcome greetings, the regimental commander, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, explained to General Fronda the many activities of the department in the NATO sphere and in international missions and accompanied him on a visit to the infrastructure.

The commander of the Multinational CIMIC Group has a double value: he simultaneously holds the functions of commander of the CIMIC regiment, with a purely Italian line, and of commander of the MNCG Headquarters with a functional line that belongs to the Coordinating Committee and Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR).
The regiment, in fact, includes in its staff not only personnel from all the Armed Forces, but also of different nationalities.

In addition to Italy, the contributing nations include Greece, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary.

At the end of the visit, after the signing of the Roll of Honor, the commander of the tactical information brigade urged CIMIC operators to place training, professionalism and cultural growth as pillars of their daily actions, both nationally and internationally.
