(To Army Majority State)
11/07/18

Team Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, commander of the Operational Command of Vertice Interforze (COI), visited NRDC-ITA.

The senior officer attended several briefings during which the tasks, structure and skills at all levels that NRDC-ITA is able to express were explained. In this context, the flexibility of the Command in covering different roles (that of the army corps, of Terrestrial Component Command or of Joint Task Force), configurations that allow the NRDC-ITA to lead any high-intensity military operation under NATO, European Union, or coalitions.

The activity continued with an update on the state of the forces of the army and on the numerous training activities that NRDC-ITA conducts in favor of the national and international dependent units. Among these, the “Ariete” armored brigade, which is holding the role of Very High Readiness Joint Task Force for the Earth component (VJTF-L) of NATO Response Force 2018 (NRF18) and large units of the Army.

Next, the NRDC-ITA's ability to monitor and analyze the threats coming from the areas of crisis and instability that border the borders of NATO, with particular reference to the so-called "Southern Front", in the context of NRDC- was finally illustrated. ITA is in fact providing support to the "Hub" for the South, set up at the Joint Force Command in Naples.

The so-called "understand, empower, operationalise the process" is the conceptual and practical foundation of all NRDC-ITA initiatives to create an informed and effective mindset in preparation for the Alliance's present and future tasks.
