"We are happy that finally the consultation has sealed the opening towards the trade union world also for the defense sector, we have always supported, since we entered Parliament, when the members were the Movimento5Stelle to choose which model of union representation they would have liked ": this is how the MPs declared pentastellati of the Defense of the Chamber and Senate commissions and that in the previous legislature they were signatories of a bill that promoted the reform of military representation going towards a trade union model.

The Constitutional Court has in fact partially declared the question of constitutional legitimacy of the 1475 article, paragraph 2, of the Code of the military order in the part in which it prohibits the military from constituting trade union associations, on the initiative of the As.So association .Di.Pro. The prohibition of "joining other trade unions" remains firm.

"Thus the Constitutional Court clearly defines which path must be taken in Parliament. Dutiful, to avoid unnecessary exploitation, the observations of the Council that reiterates the need to make the necessary restrictions on how to exercise their trade union rights, in a sector of the state as important and strategic as that of the defense of the country - MPNUMXS MPs continue - We believe that the Council has aligned itself with the recent decision of the European Committee of Social Rights
on the Euromil case of the Court of Strasbourg (Matelly and Adefdromil). On the occasion of these judgments, the Movement stressed that trade union restrictions on the military were in contrast not only with the European Social Charter and the Treaties, but above all with the democratic modernity of a country such as Italy.
".

The 5Stelle conclude: "We hope that a parliamentary debate can be opened as soon as possible, able to resume the process that had been miserably struck in the last parliamentary term and that can be approved the reform of the military representation expected by the sector for over twenty years.".
