Defense: Remote Future closes with over 200 thousand visits to Armed Forces

Great turnout of the public at the positions set up by the Army, Navy, Air Force and Carabinieri, visited by the over 200 thousand guests of the event, including many young students. A truly massive turnout that testifies to the growing attention and sensitivity towards the daily activities carried out by the entire Defense sector in favor of the community.

Among the many visitors also the Undersecretary of State for Defense Gioacchino Alfano and the Mayor of Naples Luigi de Magistris, who greeted the soldiers engaged in the stands, showing a great interest in the vehicles and specialists present, that every day they are used in the operations of the armed forces at home and abroad.

Just to cite examples, the Army with the fireworks team showed the capabilities of the Packbot 510, a remote control robot for the verification and reclamation of improvised devices; the Aeronautics, in addition to setting up a weather station, presented the remotely piloted aircraft?Strix??. The Navy instead accompanied the visitors on a virtual tour on board the Mobile Information Center, a bus set up with the latest technology. The Carabinieri have aroused much interest with the reconstruction of a crime scene, which illustrated the various detection procedures and the chemical reagents that are used in these cases.

The event, promoted by City of Science and from Campania region, then closed its doors registering over 200 thousand visitors: a record compared to previous editions.
