The commander of the Interoperable Summit Operations Command (COVI), general of the army corps Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, yesterday morning received a visit from the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Albania, the Hon. Niko Peleshi.

During the meeting, General Figliuolo and Hon. Peleshi discussed the main international current issues, addressed foreign and security policy issues and discussed the measures to combat the pandemic adopted in their respective countries.

The COVI commander wanted to recall the feelings of closeness between the two Pasi and once again thank the Albanian people for the solidarity shown to the Italians when, in March 2020, the Tirana authorities had sent 30 Albanian doctors to Italy to help their colleagues then engaged in the fight against CoVid-19 in Lombardy.

The Albanian delegation was composed, among others, by Dr. Telisa Polena (head of cabinet), by Dr. Fatjon Fhoxhalli (media advisor), by dr. Gjergji Methoxha (director of the NATO and EU leadership) and by Colonel Edmond Voci (military attaché).

An update briefing on COVI's operational activities and the signing of the Roll of Honor concluded today's visit.
