"The Center for Advanced Studies for Defense must be a place of change, of discussion of ideas to prepare for an increasingly complex future where leadership can be perfected, answers given and the ability to think innovatively developed. To Admiral Ottaviani, my thanks Wishing General Mannino to continue to do well."
Thus the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, on the occasion of the turnover ceremony of the president of the CASD (Centre of Advanced Defense Studies) and University High School, held today at Palazzo Salviati in the presence of civil and military authorities.
Ceremony which marked the change at the top of the CASD and University High School between Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani, who leaves office, and General Stefano Mannino, former commander for the Army Training and Application School.
In his speech, Minister Crosetto underlined the value of the CASD.
A center that has made an important leap in quality, taking on the new configuration of "Special Defense University High School".
Military training, increasingly interdisciplinary, is in fact the first defense of the State, especially in a complex, open and interconnected geopolitical system like the current one.
Minister Crosetto reiterated that Defense is a common heritage and an indispensable condition for peace, progress and development of our society, not just nationally.
From this perspective, the CASD is one of the best and most effective Defense tools for reading and understanding the present and preparing for the future, interpreting changes and trying to govern them: a laboratory where perfect leadership, give answers, develop the ability to think in an innovative way, not only at national level, but also at European and NATO level.
