Change in command of the Multinational CIMIC Group

Yesterday morning at the "Mario Fiore" barracks in Motta di Livenza, in the presence of the commander of the tactical information brigade, Brigadier General Maurizio Fronda and the mayors of Motta di Livenza, Alessandro Righi, and of Oderzo, Maria Scardellato, the change ceremony of the commander of the Multinational CIMIC Group between Colonel Mattia Zuzzi and the parigrade Ugo Proietto.

Colonel Zuzzi, who leaves the Multinational CIMIC Group, multinational and inter-force unit specialized in civil-military cooperation, after two years of command, in his farewell speech, recalled the spirit with which the MNCG personnel carried out their mission which is that of interface between military and civilians in military operations and to serve as a training center for CIMIC operators.

General Fronda, after giving credit to Colonel Zuzzi for the results achieved through his work, turned to Colonel Proietto, urging him to continue on the path traced and also to concentrate on how to integrate the CIMIC function within the new concept of use of tactical information brigade and its components.

Il Multinational CIMIC Group, which this year marks the twenty years since its establishment, counts among its ranks of Italy, Greece, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary.

The unit represents a pole of excellence in the field of civil and military cooperation, present with its own operators in the major crisis areas in which the Italian Army is called to operate, as well as in the Mediterranean in support of the European mission EUNAVFOR Med and in national field, in support of the police in the context of the “Safe Roads” operation. In addition to operational use, the Multinational CIMIC Group is involved in the training of CIMIC operators, civil and military, Italian and foreign. To date, more than 2.200 visitors have been trained at the Fiore barracks.
