With the closure of the Zucchelli station on the coast of Baia Terra Nova, the military personnel in support of the campaign returned. The Armed Forces contributed 18 specialists from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Carabinieri who, together with other technicians, researchers and firefighters for a total of 220 units, contributed to the conduct of 50 research projects on topics such as the sciences of life, earth, atmosphere and space.

Specifically, the Defense specialists, within the competences of the Armed Force to which they belong, have supported the PNRA with external activities, remote fields, naval and underwater activities, meteorological forecasts, planning and carrying out safely helicopter and aircraft operations. , contributing to the achievement of the expedition's objectives.

In addition, a C-130J aircraft of the 46th Air Force Brigade, with crews and trained soldiers from the AMI base in Christchurch, ensured the transport of passengers and materials according to the needs represented by ENEA.
