the M&S Center of Excellence of NATO, in collaboration with the Joint Force Training Center (JFTC) of NATO, the Lawrence Livermore National Lab (LLNL) of the United States and the Simulation and Validation Center of the Italian Army (CESIVA) of Civitavecchia, is conducting the 6th edition of the NATO Exercise Support, M&S Integration Specialist Course.

This NATO-approved course is highly technical and attracts students from as many as seven nations. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of NATO training activities and the integration of NATO simulation systems with NATO command and control systems to support joint operational activities.

The course is designed to support the operational requirements of the alliance as well as the activities of education and training (E&T). The latter are among the most relevant activities conducted by NATO's centers of excellence in support of the operational activities of the Alliance. The course includes both theoretical and practical components to ensure that students gain knowledge and practical experience in this area. The course Exercise Integration Specialist it is one of the residential courses offered by the M&S COE portfolio and is the most technologically advanced.

Simulation systems and command and control systems are essential for joint operational activities. NATO plays a crucial role in training its members and improving their capabilities in this area. The M&S Integration and Tutorial Support Specialist course is central to this effort.

Also, the integration of Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS) e Virtual Battlespace 3 (VBS3) provides students with an immersive environment to train and gain hands-on experience. This integration ensures that students have the skills and knowledge needed to effectively support NATO exercises. The aforementioned simulators are both included in the so-called list of "next generation NATO modeling and simulation systems".

To cope with the constant increase in the technical requirement, the M&S COE has planned and conducted a substantial modernization of the training room in terms of HW/SW.

The M&S Practice Support and Integration Specialist course aims to equip students with the skills and tools necessary to successfully execute a CAX event and also assist others in the process. Demand for the course is high and the number of students enrolling is on the rise, making the 2023 edition a success.
