Thus the Undersecretary of Defense, Gioacchino Alfano, in a note of the ministry, on the day of women's feast: "many years have passed since women were finally able to wear the uniform with the stars and today the balance is more than positive".
The undersecretary adds: "our military women are in the front line in all contexts and constitute an added value for self-denial and recklessness. I was impressed by their tenacity especially on the front line, honestly I didn't think of that approach. Seeing our soldiers in action is a source of pride, of a unique Italian spirit".
Alfano concludes: "I saw them in theaters operating with the Army, piloting state-of-the-art military aircraft, commanding ships, and commanding units and commands from the carabinieri. They are truly commendable in their results and in the integration with the male component, good and highly professional, congratulations to all".
