Urgent medical transport for a child

On Sunday a child in imminent danger of life was transferred from Lamezia Terme to Linate urgently to allow her immediate hospitalization at the Great Hospital of Milan Polyclinic.

The transport was necessary due to the critical condition of the patient and to allow it to reach the hospital within 7.00 on the same day, to be undergoing renal transplantation.

The request for transport by medical flight was carried out by the Prefecture of Reggio Calabria to the Situation Room of the General Staff of the Air Force which, immediately, ordered the activation of the flight, carried out with a Falcon 50 aircraft of the 31 ° Stormo of Ciampino (RM). The aircraft, landed at local 04.05 hours at the Milan military airport (Linate), landed the small patient, accompanied by her parents. Waiting for them on the track was an ambulance that had transferred to the aforementioned hospital.

Once the operations of disembarking and refueling were completed, the Falcon 50 aircraft took off for Ciampino. The Airport Command / Headquarters of the 1ª Milan-Linate Air Region has the task of guaranteeing H24 assistance to institutional aircraft, as well as to aircraft engaged for medical flights and humanitarian missions in transit to Milan and to support, from a logistical point of view administrative, the Air Force and Inter-agency Bodies and Departments that insist on the seats of the 1 Commandment Air Region / Military Joint Security Control Headquarters and of the Military Airport Command of Linate.
