First course for Krav Maga / Kapap instructors

On Thursday 27 February, in the classrooms of the Survive To Operate / Force Protection (STO / FP) Training Group of the 16 ° Stormo "Protection of Forces" of Martina Franca (TA), the ceremony of the delivery of the certificates of achievement of the patent was held from Krav Maga / Kapap and Operative Professional Techniques instructor.

Receiving the certificates were some air riflemen, admitted to the frequency of the first course of attribution of this specialty after having passed a pre-selection aimed at verifying their aptitude, abilities and basic knowledge.

The instructors of the International Krav Maga Institute (IKMI), affiliated with CONI through the National Educational Sports Center and the National Sports Centers Association, conducted theoretical and practical lessons held in the training areas of the department. At the end of the cycle of lessons, the attendees were subjected to a final assessment assessment, by a commission composed of 2 instructors of the IKMI and a non-commissioned officer of the Italian Air Force self-defense instructor. 

The concepts learned during the course have allowed air riflemen to acquire a wealth of technical knowledge of self-defense and hand-to-hand combat essential to fulfill the assigned missions, such as escort services or theoretical / practical self-defense lessons at favor of visitors of various backgrounds, as part of the Terrestrial Defense (DT) and “Fuciliere dell'Aria” qualification courses, managed by the STO / FP training group. 

Krav Maga is a system of Israeli close combat and self-defense, developed in the first half of the 20th century. The need was to develop an effective but quick-to-learn combat system. The word Krav Maga, in modern Hebrew, literally means "contact / short distance combat". In addition to Israel, it is now widespread in all the countries of the world, finding great application in the field of security operators, Armed Forces and Police Corps.

The 16 ° Stormo "Protection of the Forces" is the national training center of the Armed Force for the achievement of the specialty "Land Defense". Within the Stormo, in fact, there is the Training Group (STO / FP) which is the joint responsible for training and training for obtaining the qualification of Air Rifleman and for the achievement of the DT specialty. Practical internships are carried out at the training facilities of the Department for the official student staff of the normal courses of the Aeronautical Academy and the Marshals School.
