The evening concert "Il Palazzo con le Ali" took place yesterday evening in the evocative setting of Palazzo Aeronautica in Rome, an event organized on the occasion of the celebrations for the 90th anniversary of the construction of the building, the institutional headquarters of the Armed Force.

A very varied repertoire presented by the Air Force Music Band which during the evening, starting from the Mameli Hymn, up to the music of Ennio Morricone, passing through swing pieces, entertained the audience thanks also to the participation of the voices of the trio "Jumpin's Ladies" and the tenor Francesco Grollo.

During the evening, thanks to spectacular plays of light, Palazzo Aeronautica, inaugurated on 28 October 1931, literally came to life, revealing itself to be a truly suggestive location for the evening concert presented by the host Chiara Giallonardo.

Guardian of architectural and pictorial works of Italian rationalism, the Palazzo dell'Aeronautica periodically opens its doors to visitors who thus have the opportunity to admire the Piazzale Italo Balbo, the Grand Staircase, the Noble Rooms, the Heroes Fountain and the Paternoster , the historic lift with open cabins.

On the occasion of the ninetieth anniversary of the Palazzo dell'Aeronautica, citizens can admire for the first time the mural works of the Trieste painter and poster designer Marcello Dudovich; in fact, the exhibition "Marcello Dudovich at the time of the Aeronautical commission: 7 - 1920" was inaugurated last May 1940, which will remain open to the public until Sunday 11 July and will see exceptionally exhibited in the historical rooms of the institutional headquarters of the Armed Force over two hundred works by the Trieste artist and his collaborator Walter Resentera.

The Band of the Air Force was officially established on 1 July 1937, the use of the Band was immediately very intense and appreciated, a fact that was related to the climate of ferment and great interest that surrounded the Italian Blue Army in that period. It was the youngest Armed Force, the most modern and innovative, and this was a source of great satisfaction for Italy for the numerous successes achieved on the technical-professional level (world records and ocean crossings), which contributed to increasing the prestige of the young woman. Weapon, but above all the national one.

The current staff, established by state law, is made up of 102 orchestral members, an archivist, the conductor, the deputy director. In addition to the concerts, the Band carries out its institutional tasks which can be summarized as follows: the service of honor at the Quirinale palace alternating with the other military bands and participation in the most significant ceremonies of the Armed Force.
