The 2021 edition of the "100 Italian Excellence" award of 2021, sponsored by the presidency of the council of ministers and organized by the association for social promotion Liber based in Rome, it was "dyed blue" thanks to the recognition obtained by the general of Claudio Gabellini, commander of the Aerospace Operations Command (COA) which is based in Poggio Renatico (FE). His name will be included in the restricted "Honorable Mention" section of the valuable volume created on the occasion of the VII Edition.
The closing ceremony, and the concomitant delivery of the certificates, took place in the prestigious setting offered by the hall of the Protomoteca in the Campidoglio. The presence of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General Luca Goretti, sealed how significant the moment was not only for the AOC, but also for the entire Air Force, careful to enhance the specificities and prerogatives of each of its command, agency and department.
"A recognition paid to the figure of the commander - the gen. by Claudio Gabellini -, but due to the commitment of all of you, of all of us. We have come to the end of another difficult and demanding year, which has seen us operate on multiple fronts. I am fortunate, as captain, to have professional men and women with me, who allow the AOC to always obtain better results ".
Beyond the prestigious operational objectives achieved in 2021, the mention among the "100 Italian Excellencies", extended to the disparate fields of action within the Italian economic, social, institutional, cultural life, highlights how important it is for the " brand "Italy also the work of the various defense realities, including the Aerospace Operations Command, awarded this year with the "Honorable Mention" in the Armed Forces section and already recipient of the Silver Medal for Aeronautical Valor awarded on 1 October.
The intentions of the organizers, in fact, there is the desire to "reward 100 protagonists of the best Italy, by virtue of the precious contribution made by each of them to the growth of our country". A growth that contributes to "enhancing the emblem of a distinctive brand recognized all over the world".

The AOC exercises Command and Control over permanent operational activities, at home as well as in theaters outside national borders. It is also the doctrinal point of reference for the use and development of Aerospace power. These functions are carried out every day of the year, 24 hours a day, without interruption, through the national Operations Rooms present within the base.
