The simple but important ceremony, presided over by Colonel Leonardo Barone, commander of the 72 ° Stormo, and with the significant presence of Brigadier General Mario Marco Angeloni, commander of the Aviation Center of the Guardia di Finanza and of Lieutenant Colonel Armando Franza, took part the pilots instructors of the 208 ° Gruppo Volo, the staff of the Professional Education Group and the relatives of the new helicopter pilots.
During the training process at the 72 ° Stormo, the six officers initially followed the theoretical course at the Professional Education Group lasting seven weeks. After passing the tests to verify the knowledge acquired during the theoretical course, they moved on to the practical phase at the 208 ° Gruppo Volo, where they trained in the different forms of flight on the TH 500 B helicopters supplied to the Stormo. In particular, they carried out training missions in visual, instrumental, low-altitude, mountain and training flights, in order to acquire the necessary basic general preparation preparatory to any future operational use of helicopters.
During the ceremony, Colonel Barone congratulated the new helicopter pilots for the ambitious goal achieved and for their efforts during their stay at the Frosinone Flight School.
The 72 ° Stormo is located on the Frosinone Airport, and depends on the Air Force Schools Command / 3 ^ Air Region of Bari. The main mission of the Stormo consists in carrying out specific training for the issue of the military pilot's license - line helicopters, for the pilots of the Air Force and the military license of helicopter pilot for the personnel of all the other Armed Forces and all the Armed Corps of the State.
