The 51 ° Stormo at the Neuburg range in Germany

Electronic Warfare. Thanks to it, the 51 ° Stormo was able to obtain an important statistical data since it was the first exercise of the line Euro Fighter which also included aircraft assigned to the Treviso Air Base supplied to the 132nd Flight Group.

Four AMX aircraft of the 51st Wing, together with a cell of specialist personnel, took part in the training at the Neuburg Electronic Warfare Range in Germany in the period 4 - 19 October.

The training, which was part of the operational and training activities of the Air Squad Command (CSA) for the year 2019, was aimed at practicing and consolidating the Electronic Warfare (GE) tactics, both for the line AMX that for the relative pilots in second phase.

With a view to enhancing and rationalizing resources, the 51st Wing was charged with managing the entire organization of the operation and also supporting the Eurofighters from the Air Defense Departments of the Air Force on site, although they trained in missions separate from those flown by the AMX.

In fact, while the AMXs were deployed in Germany, the F-2000s reached the shooting range taking off from their respective bases, and in particular from Istrana, where, for the entire period of the exercise, both personnel from the Technical Support Department were present at the Electronic Warfare (Re.STOGE) of Pratica di Mare, and maintenance personnel of the Line Euro Fighter composed of specialists from the 51 ° Stormo and from the other Air Defense Departments (4 ° - 36 ° - 37 ° Stormo).

The exercise, as a whole, actively contributed to the standardization and consolidation of the operating procedures to be implemented in the field of Electronic Warfare. Thanks to it, the 51st was able to obtain an important statistical data since it was the first exercise of the line Euro Fighter where also aircrafts assigned to the Treviso Air Base in addition to the 132 ° Volo Group participated.
