Frecce Tricolori: the air demonstrations restart from Puglia

A week full of emotions for the Apulian territory which hosted the first air shows of 2022. In particular, Saturday 7 May, the National Acrobatic Patrol performed on the seafront of Giovinazzo and Molfetta, while on Sunday 8 May on the seafront of the city of Bari in honor of the patron saint of the city she enchanted, along with other aircraft and helicopters of the Armed Force, thousands of people present.

For the occasion, in the cities involved in the air shows, exhibition / information / editorial areas were set up with the presence of flight simulators, mock-ups of the aircraft supplied to the Frecce Tricolori and promotional activities of the Air Force and the Bari Aeroclub.

In the previous days, the pilots of the Frecce Tricolori they visited the little patients of the pediatric oncohematology department of the Policlinico di Bari, giving a smile of closeness that filled the eyes of the children and parents present with joy.

On the evening of 7 May, the PAN pilots, accompanied by the air squad general Silvano Frigerio, commander of the Air Force Schools / 3rd Air Region, were greeted by the mayor of Bari, ing. Antonio Decaro, and by the mayors of the cities of Giovinazzo and Molfetta in the splendid setting of the Palazzo di Città. To the pilots of the Frecce Tricolori the mayor, on behalf of the entire Bari community, offered flattering appreciation and thanks.

The highly anticipated aerobatic program of the PAN was preceded by a series of flyovers and in-flight displays. Specifically, on the days dedicated to flight, the training aircraft supplied to the Bari Aeroclub alternated in the Apulian skies, then continued with the MB339 and T-346A training aircraft of the 61st flock of Galatina (LE), to conclude with the aerotactic aircraft used in the operational departments of the Apulian territory: the Euro Fighter of the 36th flock of Gioia del Colle and the F-35A and F35B of the 32nd flock of Amendola (FG).

The aerial demonstrations were enriched by rescue demonstrations at sea carried out by the 84th SAR (Search and Rescue) Center of Gioia del Colle, dependent on the 15th flock of Cervia, in collaboration with the means of the Coast Guard / Harbor Master's Office and by a demonstration of an operations to combat illegal maritime trafficking put in place by the naval operations department of the Guardia di Finanza of Bari.

"Starting again with our events in the presence of the public with the warmth and affection of Puglia gives us the energy to face this 62nd acrobatic season of the Frecce Tricolori with even more enthusiasm". With these words, the commander of the PAN - Frecce Tricolori, Lieutenant Colonel Stefano Vit wanted to underline the closeness of the many spectators present in Giovinazzo / Molfetta and Bari.

The chief of staff of the Air Force, general of the air squad Luca Goretti, in thanking the population for the copious participation and for the numerous appreciations addressed to the Air Force and the Frecce Tricolori, added: “For the Air Force these were days of celebration and being able to return to the crowd is a huge satisfaction. This is a sign of the vitality of our Armed Force and of synergy with the population. The air shows represent an opportunity to show citizens the potential that the Air Force expresses at the service of the country, to excite young people and to be increasingly present in the social fabric. In particular, the Frecce Tricolori represent the flagship of the Air Force, today more than ever among those recognized as the most important in the international arena, encompassing the values ​​of our Armed Force and of the whole country ".
