Wednesday 21 August, at the Volunteer School of the Taranto Air Force (SVAM), the operations relating to the assignment to the departments of the Armed Forces of the attendees of the "Ladone II" course of the volunteers on initial standstill (VFI) belonging to the 1st incorporation of 2024.
The activities in question took place inside the "Italo Balbo" assembly hall where the commander of the SVAM, Colonel Alessandro Del Buono welcomed the director of the Directorate of Employment of Military Personnel of the Air Force (DIPMA), air team general Francesco Vestito, together with the staff of the IV Office headed by Colonel Giovanni Luongo.
This very important act represents the epilogue of the training course carried out at the SVAM by 522 students who arrived in Taranto last 6 June to carry out the basic training phase which was followed by the specialty phase preparatory to operational employment in Air Force.
In particular, the operations involved 363 Airmen belonging to the Operations categories - Protection and Special Forces, Firefighting and Administration Services, while last August 4th the airmen of the IT and Cybernetics and Technical Services categories had already been assigned to the departments.
The airmen of the "Ladone II" course are the new blood that will fill the departments where, with a full sense of responsibility, they will be able to contribute significantly to the fulfillment of the fundamental tasks of the Armed Forces. During the course, the participants acquired knowledge and skills based on lessons on military culture, international humanitarian law, military criminal law, defense and NATO organisation, armament, as well as a series of conferences on topics in the field of the Air Force and state general staff. major Defense; in the specialty phases they were also able to delve deeper into the specific tasks of their categories and carry out both theoretical and practical activities that will allow them to operate in the best possible and professional manner at the service of the country.
On September 16th the SVAM will host a new course for further 531 volunteers on initial standstill (VFI) belonging to the 2st incorporation of 2024.
The SVAM is the only national education and training center that provides the basic military and moral training of enlisted personnel destined to serve in the Air Force, as well as the related specific professional education. The School depends on the schools command of the AM/3rd air region, one of the three top commands of the Armed Forces which has the task of ensuring the selection, recruitment, military, cultural and professional training of Air Force personnel and the flight training (internationally), through the study and adoption of innovative teaching and training methodologies focused on the learner and based on innovation, creativity, optimization of human and material resources, eco-sustainability, constant comparison with institutions and the territory serving the community.
