Friday, November 22, 2024. The exercise has concluded Scaglia 2024 curtains held from 28 October to 22 November, a training event with the aim of consolidating tactics and procedures within the special operations and Personnel recovery.
The activities, planned and supervised by the 1st Special Operations Air Brigade (BAOS) of Furbara, involved the 17th “Incursori” wing of Furbara with its own Incursore personnel, as well as the 9th wing of Grazzanise, present with EVOS (Special Operations Flight Crews), STOS (Tactical Support for Special Operations) operators and HH-101A helicopters. Personnel and vehicles were activated from their respective operating bases.
The exercise was focused on increasing operational capacity both in national and international territory by verifying the level of training in risk and danger scenarios aimed at developing the integration between the air component and the surface component as foreseen in the NATO context by the SOALI doctrine (Special Operation Air to Land Integration).
The 1st Special Operations Air Brigade (BAOS) ensures the qualification, training, specialization and preparation of the special forces (Incursori), and of the air support for special operations (SAOS) and for the activities of Personnel recovery, ensuring the constant updating, standardization and interoperability of tactics, techniques and procedures at the Armed Forces, Joint, Interagency and International levels.
Furthermore, it has the task of expressing the skills necessary to prepare a structure of a joint special operation air task group (JSOATG) highly specialized, versatile and with high levels of operational readiness for exercises and operations. The 1th Raider Wing of Furbara and the 17th Wing of Grazzanise depend on the 9st BAOS. The 1st BAOS depends hierarchically on the Air Squad Command/1st Air Region of Milan.
