On Friday 23 July, in the presence of numerous institutional and religious offices, the alternation ceremony for the Command of the Experimental and Joint Training Polygon of Salto di Quirra (PISQ) and del Military Air Force Command for the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (CAMRAS) between the air brigadier general Michele Oballa and the air brigadier general Davide Marzinotto.
The event, organized in a framework of full compliance with epidemiological containment measures, was chaired by the logistical commander of the Air Force, air squad general Giovanni Fantuzzi. The ceremony was characterized by a strong emotional climate that culminated with the formal passage of the Institute Flag and the pronouncement of the formula for the transfer of Command.
The large presence of fighting and weapon associations, of Labari and Gonfaloni of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, of the municipalities of Cagliari and Perdasdefogu, and of the highest military, religious and civil offices of the Region have been the frame and given further emphasis to the ceremony .
The gen. ba Michael Oballa, in his speech already veiled with a nostalgic hint, he wanted to recall a promise made a little less than two years ago to the regional institutions in which the Arma Azzurra would have given a new impetus to the planning of aerospace programs and the realization of large-scale enterprises on Sardinian territory. The realization of the Space Propulsion Test Facilities in Ogliastra, ofInternational Flight Training Facilities to Decimomannu, and of Military Air Force Command Autonomous Region of Sardinia they are tangible demonstrations of the unequivocal commitment to keep their word. "Thanks to the more than 1500 men and women, military and civilians, today we guarantee the Armed Forces to be able to train in full compliance with rigorous environmental protection protocols agreed with regional institutions, bringing innovative long-term aerospace programs to the territory with undoubted employment implications for the Sardinian population ".
The gen. ba David Marzinotto, after having expressed his gratitude to the Armed Forces for the trust they have placed and to his predecessor for the work done, he wanted to underline the very strong motivation he feels in being in the presence of such an atypical and challenging adventure that is both a prelude to an intense work that stimulating opportunity to obtain profound professional satisfaction.
The ceremony ended with the intervention of gen. knows Fantuzzi who, in the most meaningful sections of his speech, reiterated the strategic importance of the PISQ for the Armed Force. A presence on the Sardinian territory that must be consolidated in harmonious collaboration with all components, military and civilian, for a peaceful coexistence and a growing bilateral interest.
The PISQ, downstream of the most recent evolutionary processes, proposes itself as a capable and modern laboratory for the experimentation of cutting-edge technologies in favor of Defense and National Industry, and as a complex scenario for advanced training in the use of systems latest generation weapon.
CAMRAS, constituting the natural link between the Armed Force and the local government bodies, ensures, in addition to the activities of a presidential nature, the now essential link that must exist between institutional bodies to share resources and in synergy effectively deal with any situations of emergency of the community.
