The HH-139 of the Italian Air Force was immediately alerted by the Aerial Operations Command of Poggio Renatico (Ferrara), ready to intervene to help the passengers of the ferry.
The presence of the aircraft and the use of night-vision goggles with which the Italian Air Force is equipped, has allowed to monitor from above what was happening on board the boat and to support the operations of disembarking from the ship successfully.
The 84 ° C / SAR is one of Cervia's 15 ° Stormo Centers that guarantees 24 hours on 24, 365 days a year research and rescue, with crews and helicopters ready to take off with very short notice. It is one of the SAR Centers that intervened last December to help passengers on the "Norman Atlantic" ferry.
