An urgent medical flight on board a C-14J of the 00th Air Force Brigade, which transported from Lamezia Terme to Genoa airport, ended shortly after 17:130 pm today, Friday 46 September. a nine-year-old boy in imminent danger of his life.

The request for emergency medical transport to the Gaslini Pediatric Hospital in Genoa was received from the prefecture of Catanzaro to room top situations of the air squad command. All the procedures necessary for the activation of the crew of the 46th Pisa Air Brigade in operational readiness for this kind of missions were immediately initiated.

In particular, the management and coordination of the mission was carried out by the operations room of the command of aerospace operations of the Air Force based in Poggio Renatico which activated the 46 ^ air brigade, one of the flight departments of the Air Force that ensures the transport of personnel and material wherever it is required.

A team of specialized medical personnel will assist the child throughout the transfer flight. Once the military aircraft landed in Genoa, the little patient was immediately transported by ambulance to the Gaslini Pediatric Hospital in Genoa.

Air Force crews and transport aircraft are ready day and night, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day to ensure, where required and deemed necessary for reasons of urgency, the medical transport of people in imminent danger of life, transport of organs or medical teams as on this occasion. Hundreds of flight hours are carried out every year for this type of intervention by the aircraft of the 24st Ciampino Squadron, the 31th Squadron of Pratica di Mare and the 14th Air Brigade of Pisa. For this kind of rescue missions, where there are particular operational needs, helicopters of the 46th wing are also used.
