B-767 reports contingent homeland from Afghanistan

He returned to Italy, aboard a Boeing KC-767A of the 8 ° Flight Group of the 14 ° Wing of Pratica di Mare (Rome), a military contingent made up of personnel belonging to different departments of the Italian Air Force and 7 ° Bersaglieri Regiment of the Italian Army, which operated in the Afghan operational theater as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) operation.

The flight, which departed from Al Bateen airport (United Arab Emirates) in the early afternoon yesterday, reached the Air Force “MOVM TV Orazio Pierozzi” Airport Detachment in Brindisi in the early hours of today. 

After the operations of disembarking the personnel and unloading the materials, the aircraft took off for the military airport of Pratica di Mare (Rome), where the 14 ° Stormo is located.

The activities of disembarking passengers and unloading the materials transported were carried out by the "Movement & Transportation" (M&T) staff of the Brindisi Air Terminal Operation Center (ATOC), also making use of the equipment made available by the Brindisi airport company. "Aeroporti di Puglia" (AdP), with which for years there has been an effective collaboration of both "ground handling" vehicles and personnel.

The Brindisi Detachment, placed under the Logistics Command, in addition to providing support to the peacekeeping and humanitarian nations of the United Nations, also provides, 24 hours a day, 24 days a year, assistance to civil aviation air navigation services, passing aircraft belonging to NATO countries, providing the command functions of the Aeronautical Presidium through logistical and administrative support to the Armed Forces of the Brindisi area.
