Aeronautica Militare, emergency flight from Cagliari to Rome to save a newborn

In the late morning of September 16, a Falcon 900 from the 31st flock of the Air Force took off from Cagliari airport to carry a two-month-old baby girl hospitalized at the "Duilio Casula" hospital in the Sardinian capital.

The little patient, accompanied by her mother, was boarded on the military aircraft inside a thermal cradle, under the constant supervision of a specialized medical team.

The transport request, as required by the emergency procedures, was received by the Prefecture of Cagliari at room top situations of the command of the air team, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its functions also that of arranging and managing this type of missions for citizens. The Summit Situation Room has therefore activated one of the aircraft that the Armed Force keeps ready 24 hours a day for this kind of need.

After landing in Ciampino, which took place in the very early afternoon, the newborn, always protected in the thermal cradle, was transferred by ambulance to be admitted to the "Bambino Gesù" Hospital in Rome.
