The event, founded seven years ago with the aim of promoting and encouraging the physical activity of the personnel of the Ministry of Defense, was conceived and organized by the Sports Section of the detachment of the Navy of Naples, in collaboration with Aeronautica Militare, the Bersaglieri brigade of Caserta and the Circle of State and Penitentiary Police Operators. Participation is open to all military personnel and armed bodies of the State, as long as it is suitable for competitive sports and activity.
The Air Force ensures the surveillance of the national airspace 365 days a year, 24 hours on 24, with an integrated defense system, from the time of peace, with that of the other countries belonging to NATO. The service is guaranteed - for the surveillance, identification and control part - by the Radar Groups of Poggio Renatico (FE), Poggio Ballone (GR) and Licola (NA) and - with regard to the flight intervention - by the 4 ° Stormo (GR) and from the 36 ° Stormo (BA), as well as, as support and back-up to the 4 ° and 36 °, from the 37 ° Stormo (TP), all equipped with Eurofighter fighter aircraft.
