4th wing: 2nd training course for Kuwaiti pilots completed

At the 20th OCU (Operational Conversion Unit) group of the 4th Grosseto fighter wing, training for the "IT-26" class, made up of two Kuwaiti pilots, was completed on Tuesday 01 October. Euro Fighter of the Kuwait Air Force. 

To achieve various levels of training up to the qualifications of Rear Seat Instructor need  Weapons Instructor, the two pilots, already with previous qualifications on an F-18 aircraft, followed a training process based on theoretical lessons, flight activities with simulator and real flight activities. 

The 20th OCU (Operational Conversion Unit) group of the 4th fighter wing has the task of training the pilots assigned to the F-2000 line ensuring standardization between the operational departments Euro Fighter, contribute to the national airspace surveillance service, ensure advanced training through instructor courses Shooting and Tactics, validate and coordinate the implementation of new tactics, techniques and procedures as well as support the Experimental Flight Unit during the operational verification campaigns of the F-2000 weapon system.

The 4th fighter flock depends on the air team command through the command combat forces. Ensuring the air defense of the area of ​​national interest, contributing to the control, since peacetime, of the relative airspace and carrying out air defense operations in the assigned areas, within the framework of participation in international operations for the prevention and management of the crisis. Specifically, the department is engaged in the alarm service, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, through the use of the aircraft Euro Fighter

The 4th wing is also responsible for ensuring the operational conversion of the pilots of the armed force to be employed in the line Eurofighter F-2000. The 4th fighter flock depends on the air team command through the Combat Force Command.
