The Flight Safety Course (IFSO), is a Flight Safety course that takes place at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The IFSO course is structured in 7 weeks during which theoretical and practical modules are carried out.

The theoretical part includes subjects such as investigation, material factors, Safety Management Programs, Human Factor and Risk Management, the practical part includes a crash lab where the causes that led to a simulated aircraft accident are investigated, this part then ends with a briefing and a final report to be presented to a jury. The course includes a mid term exam and a final exam, where Captain Dimagli, instructor pilot, at the 212 ° flight group of the 61 ° flock of Lecce has always scored the maximum score in each test and was also the board president of the working group that took care of the final investigation phase. This result allowed him to obtain the highest recognition given to the "Distinguished Graduates" of the best course attender; words of appreciation were addressed to our captain by the chief of Flight Safety Investigation: "if he had been an officer of my Air Force he would certainly have been part of my team [...]".
