The 26th edition of the Eurosatory fair in Paris (13-17 June) concluded successfully, hosting over 1.700 exhibitors and attracting 62.000 visitors from all over the world in an exhibition space of 20.000 square metres.

The event represented an important showcase for the latest innovations in the military sector, fundamental to maintaining a credible status in the modern international armed forces.

New concepts of conflict

In the 40 pavilions, participants were able to interact and discuss advanced solutions for an increasingly automated conflict system, with particular attention to emerging technologies intended to support "intelligent machines" operating in the field, for the benefit of soldiers' safety; more and more remote machine operators (and technicians).

Allison news: hybrid only

An important protagonist was the Group Allison transmission in the field of automation of tactical and armored vehicles, presenting innovative solutions, in particular the eGen Force™ system (opening photo). This hybrid system for armored combat vehicles, developed in collaboration with American Rheinmetall Vehicles (ARV), offers advanced features such as drive by wire and silent mobility.

eGen Force™ was selected for the armored fighting vehicle Lynx in the program XM30 Combat Vehicle of the United States Army, representing the latest upgrade in Allison's armored vehicle portfolio, adaptable to a wide range of military applications.

The eGen Force™ system, thanks to an electric motor and a reverse, goes beyond traditional drivetrains, providing power to the vehicle with parallel hybrid operation that enables silent mobility and reduced risk of enemy detection, essential for operational security.

Allison Transmission also showcased other kinematic motion transfer solutions, including the 3040 MX™ cross-drive transmission (bottom photo) and the 9™ Series 4000-speed fully automatic transmissions (photo), for defense ground vehicles.

A new engine for the US Army

Additionally, the partnership with General Dynamics led to Allison Transmission being the supplier of choice for the program Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) of the United States Army, with the goal of modernizing the military vehicle fleet through the delivery of more than 500 MPF vehicles by 2035, for a total value of 250 million dollars.

Among the innovations presented, the evolution of the traditional six-speed torque converter transmission of the Allison 2000™ Series stands out, now available in a self-adaptive 9-speed version, ideal for light and medium tactical applications. This new system, designed to operate in the most extreme operating conditions, guarantees superior driving performance and reliability, helping to optimize operations in the most demanding work cycles.
