The multinational exercise "Dynamic Front" began on November 4, 2024 and represents the largest edition ever realized so far. It takes place in several European locations, including Finland, Germany (photo), Poland, Romania and Estonia, and sees the participation of about 5.000 soldiers from 28 nations (including Italy).
Led by 56th U.S. Artillery Command, the exercise aims to standardize fire operations and improve interoperability of artillery systems between the United States, NATO allies and partners. The event integrates ASCA (Artillery Systems Cooperation Activities) technology, a system that allows communication without language barriers between artillery units, improving real-time coordination, and showcases NATO's multinational capabilities to synchronize live-fire artillery capabilities from the Arctic Circle to the Black Sea.
Finland is hosting a NATO exercise on this scale for the first time, demonstrating its ability to welcome allied reinforcements and lead multinational operations in challenging weather conditions.
"Dynamic Front" stands out for its live-fire exercises and the adoption of advanced tactics in response to potential threats in the European theater.
The activity will end on November 24th.
